Moylan did get an extra year of eligibility last summer, but, because he was injured in the fourth game last season and didn't play after that, he had a chance to pursue another year because of the injury. But, as Kirk Ferentz said at his press conference last week, Moylan chose not to apply for another medical redshirt year because he struggled with concussions last year and doesn't want to risk further injury. Now if I remember right, he was injured for part of this season. However, I don't think we can blame his attrition on injury, but rather that he exhausted his eligibility.
